No, not a bullet. Close enough, though: paintballs. Body shots are yet another term used in a violent sport, though in this case paintball is a bit less painful than the boxing we mentioned last time. A body shot in paintball generally refers to any shot taken in the trunk of your body.

(For those who don’t know, the trunk is your chest, stomach, waist, all that stuff. Head, arms and legs don’t count.)

These body shots are typically the easiest and most common to achieve in paintball, as the trunk of the body comprises the largest target on a person most of the time. Just don’t shoot people in the back - it’s a body shot, sure, but a treacherous one at that. Give ‘em a chance to surrender first.

Of course, if they try and turn the tables on you, aim for the head. THAT is fine.

That’s because a body shot is also a reference to a boxing strike. Typically body shots are punches directed at a fighter’s midsection, usually the ribs or stomach, intended to wear him or her down for an inevitable knock out. Body shots are seldom strong enough to actually take out the fighter on their own; however it has been known to happen on occasion, when the fighter strikes with just the right amount of momentum in just the right place.

Definitely not the same as the traditional liquor body shot, and definitely something you’ll want to beware of. Save body shots for bars and always be wary of whom you ask for one, as you might find yourself plastered on the ground - and in need of a drink to stop the pain.

Body Shots is a story of the night life in Los Angeles for a group of young women. They go out, they party, they get drunk. The usual. But one night Tara Reid’s character is out with Jerry O’Connell’s, and by the end of the night she comes home an absolute wreck, saying he raped her.

He’s arrested, of course, but he pleads innocence. So what really happened?

What follows is a series of flashbacks on either side retelling the night’s action in an attempt to unravel exactly who’s guilty of what.

Perhaps you’ve heard of this ritual before, but you’re left wondering “what is a body shot?”  Fear not, this step-by-step guide will show you exactly what to do. 

What you will need to have in order to do a body shot is a bottle of tequila (actually, it doesn’t matter what kind of liquor it is), a packet of salt, a lime wedge (or lemon, if you prefer), and a willing body. 

Step 1: Choose what part of your partner’s body you’d like to lick, then lick it.

Step 2: Take your salt packet and empty it onto the spot you just licked.

Step 3: Have your partner hold the lime in his/her mouth with the skin facing in.

Step 4:  Lick up the salt, and do the shot.

Step 5:  Eat the lime from your partner’s mouth

And there you have it, no longer will you have to wonder “What is a body shot?”

Now that you have your shot, your fruit, and your partner, you’re ready to begin.  First, lick your partner’s neck.  It doesn’t have to be the neck, of course, any body part will do.  Next, pour the salt onto the part of your partners body that you licked.  Then, have your partner hold the lime wedge in their mouth, with the edible portion facing outward.  

Now, lick the salt of your parner’s neck (or other body part), then quickly do the shot.  While you’re still holding your partners neck, eat the lime wedge from his/her mouth.  Congratulations!  You have just learned how to do a body shot!
